The Women's House project aims to promote gender equality and empower women, drawing inspiration from the valuable and important role that bees play in their ecosystem. Like bees, women are key components of their communities and their labor is essential to the growth and sustainability of society. In many parts of the world, women make up over 60% of the labor force in agriculture and are also pillars of their families. By empowering women, we can build a more equal and sustainable society, where everyone can grow and thrive together.

 

Gender inequality is still prevalent in many southern countries, particularly in rural and impoverished areas where access to education and resources is limited. This problem is particularly acute in African countries. However, we believe that a solution can be found by taking both local and global action to make a positive impact. Our vision is simple yet powerful: we want to empower Senegalese women, not only in their villages but also beyond, throughout the Casamance River region - from east to west, from countryside to big cities and even to the capital, Dakar.
